Natalie and “Zipper”

My name is Natalie. I’ve always loved all animals and grew up out in the country catching any kind of critter I could find, including snakes, frogs, and turtles. Years later I am an adult keeping an assortment of captive bred reptiles. But never thought to get a turtle or tortoise because of how long-lived they are, and the commitment that meant. That is, until my significant other (who runs local reptile shows in our area) obtained a clutch of baby red-foots. Immediately I picked out the oddball of the group. A tortoise with split top scoots on its shell that created a zig-zag pattern all the way down its shell. I of course fell in love and decided this little one was worth the commitment. I named her Little Zipper. A pun off the constellation the Little Dipper. She quickly became a favorite in my menagerie, as her personality has come out. I hope to have her long into my golden years!
