Our goal as reptile keepers is to provide an even pattern of light and heat that covers an animal’s body while they bask. Several factors contribute to a bulb’s coverage, including the bulb’s shape, the type of lens used, and the coating on the bulb’s glass. Below are independent tests of Zoo Med lamps that show the shape and distribution produced by each one. With this type of quantifiable test data, we can fine-tune the parameters we provide for our pets to better meet their needs.
