Dr. Turtle® Slow-Release Calcium Block

Dr. Turtle® is a slow-release calcium block that conditions water while providing a calcium supplement to promote healthy shell growth for aquatic turtles. To use, simply place the Dr. Turtle® Block in your turtles water supply

Turtles require UVB lighting and heat for proper shell growth and development. Provide your turtles with Zoo Med’s ReptiSun® 5.0 or 10.0 UVB lamps in addition to Zoo Med’s Repti Tuff Splashproof Halogen Lamps. For optimum health, feed your turtles Zoo Med’s Natural Aquatic Turtle Food.

Aquatic turtles need access to a dry basking site with UVB lighting and heat for proper shell growth and development. Visit the Education Center on our website to learn more about proper lighting and heating options.

Place one Dr. Turtle® Slow-Release Calcium Block into your turtle’s water supply and replace once it’s fully dissolved. The block will slowly release calcium over time, neutralizing acidic water conditions and benefiting the turtle’s shell.

Q: How many blocks should I add to my tank?
A: Add one block per tank, regardless of size. Replace as needed once it dissolves. Note: The block will dissolve at different rates based on your tank’s water chemistry.
