Our store of the month for August is Ever Evolving Exotics! Owner Lee Ingle opened a hole-in-the-wall shop 9 years ago while stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force in Tucson, AZ. His shop is so successful, that earlier this year he moved to a location 4 times the size.

The store makes and sells breathtaking bioactive enclosures, and their philosophy is “bioactive is not a trend, it’s a lifestyle.” They feature a lot of these builds on Instagram and TikTok in how-to videos, and have designed and built habitats for several local businesses and even the local zoo.

In their move to a bigger retail location, they devoted a section to hardscape and bioactive supplies, as a lot of their customers were looking for these specialty items. Lee says he’s blown away in general by how reptile specialty stores do so well on the West Coast, and that was one reason he opened a shop with advanced animal care and customer education.

At home Lee has cats, dogs, birds, fish, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, and a ton of reptiles. Lee has a special soft spot for snakes, because he wasn’t allowed to have one as a kid.
