Our store of the month for December is Metazotics in Chandler, IN! Back in 2022, Clint Bartley retired from his 20+ year career with an optical retail company after he saw a clear vision to pursue his passion for reptiles.

Before opening Metazotics, Clint ran a side business for years called Bartley Reptiles. At one point the bottom floor of his family’s house along with their one car garage was entirely devoted to reptiles! During his time focusing on Bartley Reptiles, Clint bred Asian rat snakes and black rat snake mutations.

When an opportunity to pursue his childhood dream came along, Clint jumped at it. He purchased a 9000 square foot facility and created a 3000 square foot showroom which turned into Metazotics! With lots of help from family and friends, he created a specialty reptile shop that became an immersive experience for visitors.

You can tell lots of love was poured into Metazotics the moment you walk in. Your eyes are drawn to their showstopping displays, including an indoor pond and a lounge where you can comfortably admire beautiful terrariums from a cozy couch.

Metazotics has over 700 breeders in their collection and produce 85% of the animals it sells. They offer all dry goods and animals from their store on their website for purchase anywhere in the country! They vend at many reptile shows as well.

Their first store in Chandler, IN has done so well that in March of this year they opened a second location in Henderson, KY. If you’re near Chandler, IN, or Henderson, KY, make sure to show Metazotics some love this month!
