Mark Markese first dreamed of opening a pet store when he was 13 years old. His parents owned Vince’s Tropical Fish store, and being immersed in pet culture from an early age, he knew it was his dream to continue the family businesss. He set his sights on opening a pet store of his own, and by 2006 he opened Super Pets in Temple City, CA.

Super Pets is a full line pet store, serving the needs of reptiles, fish, birds, small animals, dogs, and cats. They offer teeth cleaning, grooming, vaccinations, and adoption events at their store. Mark’s favorite species to work with in the store are panther chameleons and red-eyed tree frogs.

Super Pets is still family focused, and when visiting you may run into three generations of family members throughout the store! They have a customer loyalty program, and twice annual sales where EVERYTHING in the store goes on Super Pets super sale.

Mark has noticed the demand for high-quality pet food is on the rise, and makes sure to meet those needs for customers. In 2013 he opened a second location of Super Pets in the city of Orange. His hope is to expand to more locations over the next few years to make Super Pets high-quality service and goods available to more of the surrounding community.

Super Pets offers school tours to kindergarteners and first graders, and they consistently donate to local school sports and school clubs.

Outside of work, Mark enjoys camping and family fishing trips with his kids.
