We are excited to feature Safari Pet Center in Brossard, Quebec, Canada, as our November store of the month. This is not an ordinary retail pet shop, but a destination adventure that will amaze any animal and Disney enthusiast alike. This 22,000 square foot store takes you through a reptile cave, fish room inside a pirate ship, koi lagoons and waterfall and avian jungle, amongst other unique displays.

At the top floor of the pirate ship, customers can observe a group of giant Sulcata Tortoises that have a custom exhibit that is part of the ship.

The newest adventure thrill at this location is the indoor ropes course. Fifteen feet above the Caribbean village and lagoons, one will find a concept that is especially unique- an indoor ropes course and zipline for children and adults alike.

This themed store is the mastermind work of Robert and Darlene, who opened their first Safari Pet Center in 1997 and today, they have expanded to four locations (Dix30, Taschereau, Versailles and Delson). They are huge fans of creating themed stores, and pirate ships, lagoons, airplanes, and off-road Jeeps can be found throughout these locations.

Safari Pet Centers are true full-line pet stores that offer companion pets and all the necessary products to keep them healthy and happy. Today, the store continues to grow and evolve with the reptile and fish hobby, and industry. The newest industry trends are evident in the store, including custom-built Paludariums and Bioactive live planted displays, which are always on display and recommended to clients. Safari Pet Center is a destination for hobbyists looking for rare and unusual reptiles, amphibians, and aquarium fish along with small animals, birds, dogs and cats. Incredible animals such as diamondback terrapin turtles, box turtles, tortoises, Jackson’s chameleons, veiled and panther chameleons, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, giant Leachianus geckos, crested geckos, electric blue williamsi day geckos, painted agamas, uromastyx lizards, and many species of snakes can be found in the store. The store currently houses a beautiful group of Wild Altum angelfish which are always desired by fish hobbyists.

A variety of feeders are available: crickets are available in multiple sizes, waxworms, mealworms, superworms, silkworms, hornworms, black soldier fly larvae, frozen and live mice and rats, quail eggs, and ASF rats are sold to fulfill any pet reptile’s dietary requirements. Bioactive insects including different isopod species and springtails are available for purchase as well. Live plants for aquariums, terrariums and Paludariums are sold in the store.

The staff at Safari Pet Center are very knowledgeable and passionate hobbyists who keep and breed reptiles, live plants, and fish at home and, therefore, can offer excellent customer service to their loyal clients. The store manager at the DIX30 location, Joseph D is especially enthusiastic about reptiles, and has kept them since he was a teenager. His favorite species is the Chinese crocodile lizard, which is a species Safari Pets often has available.

Along with having incredible custom displays with animals, Safari also carries the latest in reptile products, including the newest items from Zoo Med. They have a vast variety of dry goods products, and when it comes to heat bulbs, UVB bulbs and fixtures, glass terrariums, heat-related items, canned and dried foods, supplements, cage decorations, and substrates, customers can find a large variety of quality Zoo Med products to suit everyone’s needs, from beginners to expert hobbyists alike.
