Our store of the month for January is Strange Exotics! Ky-ra and Rob Strange have been in the reptile industry for well over 10 years, but it wasn’t until 2023 that they opened their store, Strange Exotics, in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
Since opening, they’ve prioritized keeping many strange pets, including freshwater and saltwater fish, reptiles, and amphibians. They often get rarer animals in their shop, including Uroplatus geckos, Vietnamese mossy frogs, mudskippers, woma pythons, stingrays, ackie monitors, and more.
They have an impressive collection of isopods and feeder insects, and while you’re there you can pick up food and supplies for dogs and cats as well.
Their staff is very knowledgeable, and Rob and Ky-ra have poured their hearts into making this store its best. Every fish tank and vivarium is built and decorated to meet specific animal’s needs, and the store is constantly expanding and improving.
The Strange team are true hobbyists with a store you don’t want to skip. If you’re ever near Medicine Hat, make sure to stop in and say hi!
