Our Store of the Month for June is Imperial Reptiles in Miami, Florida! As a kid, Alex had a secret oasis, not hidden in wardrobes or rabbit holes, but instead behind the closed doors of his neighbor’s bedroom. He often escaped to prehistoric jungles hidden in these walls, and when reflecting on it now, this childhood friendship and reptile dream-world was a defining step in his journey to owning a pet store. Once he realized he could own a tiny dinosaur, he quickly got as many small beasts as he could get his hands on, and started an African Fat Tail Gecko breeding project out of his mom’s garage. This was the beginning of an era.
Today, Imperial Reptiles still breeds African Fat Tail Geckos, and has expanded to Leopard Geckos, Crested Geckos, and a very exciting Blue Tree Monitor project. Alex loves how intelligent monitors are, and it makes them so rewarding to work with.
If geckos and monitors are not for you, Imperial Reptiles also keeps a huge variety of other reptiles and amphibians. Their website is always up to date with current animal availability, and if you’re not local, you can get animals shipped to you!
Another service Alex and the Imperial Reptile team are proud to provide is exceptional customer service. They are available to answer questions even if it’s not about something you purchased from them! Alex remembered fondly that a customer called one time hoping to get an ID on a snake they found in their house. After some sleuthing, they realized it was a Water Moccasin and advised the guy to stay away from the venomous snake.
If Alex is not available at the store, you can be sure a paintball field is occupied, or Louis, the “good boy” Belgian Malinois is getting some much-deserved attention, however, there is always a team of passionate reptile enthusiast employees available at the store for all your reptile needs. Make sure to show Imperial Reptiles some love locally or online this month!
